Sponsors of a K-1 fiancé visa are required to file an I-134 Affidavit of Support. The I-134 Affidavit of Support is different from the I-864 Affidavit of Support. The I-134 Affidavit of Support is for non-immigrant visa like the K1 or K3 visa. The I-864 Affidavit of Support is for sponsors of an immigration petition. The two affidavits of support have different financial income requirements. If you want to take your fiancée back to the United States then you need to meet the financial requirements for the fiancé visa.
The sponsor of a K-1 fiancé visa must meet the financial requirements as required by law. They are required to have a minimum income of 100% of the poverty guideline or five times the amount in personal property, financial assets or real estate. The amount is determined by the number of people in the family household plus the number of people sponsored and where they will be residing. So if a U.S. citizen with a dependent child is sponsoring his fiancée and her two children, the U.S. will have to have a minimum income for a household of five people in the state that he resides.
